Newly-released documents detail officer firing

The Anacortes Police Department has released documents to justify firing a police officer for improper use of a city computer. The 573-page investigative file includes redacted copies of Web sites the officer visited & personal emails.

Anacortes wins on shoreline process

The state Supreme Court has narrowly upheld Anacortes’ shoreline protection process. The five-to-four ruling was a loss for the state Department of Ecology and several environmental groups that challenged the Anacortes process.
