On August 17, A 13-year-old Anacortes boy was arrested and booked into Skagit County Juvenile Detention for malicious mischief.  The boy was responsible for several acts of graffiti at Storvick Park and several area businesses.  The boy, who claimed gang affiliation, spray painted the number 13 and other items on the new playground and restrooms at the park as well as on other area buildings.  The park graffiti was quickly removed by the Anacortes Parks Department.

Newly-released documents detail officer firing

The Anacortes Police Department has released documents to justify firing a police officer for improper use of a city computer. The 573-page investigative file includes redacted copies of Web sites the officer visited & personal emails.

2008-0803_police_blotter.jpgAnacortes police managed to avoid shooting a suspect who pulled a realistic-looking handgun on police officers. Turns out the handgun was only a pellet gun, but it looked pretty real to the police.
