In light of the current rapid increase in coronavirus cases in the state and Skagit County, the Anacortes schools will limit audience at all athletic events starting this Saturday.

In an effort to address the critical stress on health systems and testing sites and to reduce high COVID-19 exposure situations during this Omicron surge, Skagit County Public Health has requested that K-12 schools place a pause on spectator attendance at indoor school events. As such, effective Saturday, January 15, 2022, Anacortes School District will pause spectator attendance at all of our indoor events.

Attendance at all athletic events will be limited to student athletes, coaches, and other necessary staff. Attendance at performances will be limited to performers, and necessary event staff. This also applies to any outside user groups using our facilities, such as youth sports.

ASD will livestream events whenever possible. A schedule with links can be found here: https://anacortesseahawks.com/

This will remain in effect until at least through Thursday, January 27, 2022. In coordination with Skagit County Public Health, we will reassess this pause at that time.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we all work to reduce stress on critical health systems.
