The Coast Guard detained an oil tanker from headed to Anacortes after discovering several significant safety violations.
Steelworkers were on the picket line Monday outside the March Point Tesoro refinery which continues to operate with non-union personnel, according to the company.
The United Steelworkers Union called strikes Sunday morning at nine refineries, including the March Point Tesoro refinery. Sunday afternoon Tesoro said, “Operations continue here at our Anacortes refinery and we expect to fully transition to non-USW workers within the next 24-48 hours.”
Simply Yards is building a new home for itself and will soon be moving out of the Commercial Ave. corridor to the northeast corner of Reservation Rd. and Highway 20.
