Harry & the Potters set to perform here

Harry & the Potters

Music lovers and Harry Potter fans unite! Harry and the Potters and Kimya Dawson will perform a free concert in Causland Park on July 17th.

Hailed as the originators of wizard rock, brothers Joe and Paul DeGeorge have channeled their passion for Harry Potter into several albums and played shows all over the world. Indie rock artist Kimya Dawson will open the show. The brothers grew up in a suburban Boston house that has a cupboard under the stairs.

Local food vendors Lopez Island Creamery and Frugal Dog will be selling hotdogs and ice cream at the event. The Anacortes Parks Department invites you to join a game of Quidditch before the show, starting at 5:15 pm. The free concert is set for 6:00 pm at Causland Park at 710 N Ave.

In 2019 Harry and the Potters released their first full length album in 13 years titled Lumos, and they are currently touring libraries all over the United States to promote it. This particular album focuses on Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, the final book in the series, and draws parallels with current political issues. You can preview their music on harryandthepotters.bandcamp.com or visit their website. Kimya Dawson is known for her irreverent children’s album Alphabutt and for contributing several songs to the movie soundtrack Juno. You can listen to her music here.

This event is co-sponsored by the Anacortes Public Library and the Anacortes Parks Department. This program is FREE and open to the public. Questions? 360-293-1910 or library.cityofanacortes.org.
