Three accomplished writers will discuss the fundamentals of memoir writing. Réanne Hemingway-Douglass is the publisher and author of three memoirs, Lisa Wright is a researcher and writer and has just completed her father-in-law’s compelling memoir, and Rebecca Pratt was a Chief of Production for Newsweek magazine. Come to Anacortes Public Library at 7 pm on Friday March 2 for the first of two free talks which together cover the development of jazz piano style and technique through history, highlighting the most important contributors, and illustrated with audio and video recordings. The speaker will be Brent Jensen, a popular local saxophonist and bandleader (and Paul Desmond devotee), who was also for 18 years the Director of Jazz Studies at the College of Southern Idaho, where he developed a comprehensive jazz handbook for teaching college jazz history courses.
