@Rockfish: Trish Hatley

Wed. Oct 12, 2022 6:00 pm

TRISH HATLEY - One might consider vocalist Trish Hatley the quintessential ambassador of the Great American Songbook. With a full, lush tone, masterful phrasing and an innate sense of swing, Hatley puts her own genuine touch on American’s most classic songs. There is a certain warm elegance to Trish, and she exudes an effortless quality that is quite appealing. It is no wonder that she has amassed such a large and devoted following throughout the years. Attendant with her magic is years of hard work and decades of “making it happen.” Perhaps one of the most telling indicators of Trish’s success is her loyal and large fan base. Wherever she plays, the seats are filled, and many of her followers will travel for miles just to hear her sing. This is no accident. Trish’s rapport with her audiences is extraordinary. She is mindful about connecting with her fans. “We are sharing the experience together,” she says, “They need to be part of what you’re doing.”

Anacortes PD drug take-back event

Sat. Oct 29, 2022 10:00 am

The Anacortes Police Department will host a drug take-back event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 29, as part of the Federal Drug Enforcement Administration’s National Prescription Drug Take Back Day. This is the second event of its kind this year, with the first one, held in late April, bringing in more than 39 pounds of unneeded and unused prescription and over-the-counter medications.

Residents can bring their unneeded medications to the department lobby, located at 1218 24th St., and they will be disposed of properly and securely, ensuring these drugs are not stolen or misused. Prescription and over-the-counter medications are accepted, and drugs don’t need to be in their original packaging or containers. Sharps and needles are not accepted.

If anyone can’t make it to the Oct. 29 event, the Anacortes Police Department has a secure drug take-back receptacle in its lobby, open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. every weekday. Skidmore Pharmacy on 24th Street and Safeway both have similar receptacles here in town.

Call Community Service Officer Brent Lindquist at 360-588-8234 for more information.
