Hood Canal Bridge Ecosystem Impact Assessment: Impacts of a floating bridge on juvenile steelhead migration. Friday, March 19, 2021. Our presenter will be Iris Kemp, Senior Project Manager at Long Live the Kings (LLTK). While spending over two years collecting research data, the LLTK Hood Canal Bridge Assessment Team tagged and tracked migration routes and mortality of nearly 500 juvenile steelhead. They collected data on light, noise, fish density, predators, and water quality. This team discovered that up to 50% of the juvenile fish don’t make it past the Bridge! Come hear the stunning results of this research and how LLTK is working to develop mitigation strategies to help the steelhead. All lectures are on Friday eves., 7pm-8pm.
