Island Hospital offers free memory screening

Free memory screenings will be held on Tuesday, January 12, from 1:30-3:30 p.m. at Island Hospital’s Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapy clinic, 1015 25th St., Anacortes. Our experts will help identify the nature of your memory difficulty and determine if a cognitive communication deficit may be a factor.  Appointments required. Friends of Skagit Beaches Lecture Series - Online - Seals and Sea Lions: Pinnipeds of the Salish Sea. Our first online lecture will be Friday, Jan. 15, 7pm-8pm: They’re called “pinnipeds” due to their feathered or winged feet. Learn to distinguish between seals and sea lions and how local scientists are identifying individuals of these local marine mammals. Dr. Cindy Elliser, research director, Pacific Mammal Research (PacMam), will present her fascinating marine research.  Please join us for the 16th year of our lecture Series: Four online lectures highlighting the amazing life in and around the marine ecosystems of the Salish Sea.
