Former A-6 pilot and author Peter Hunt will give an account of his search and discovery of a missing A-6 intruder, 25 years after its disappearance. On November 6, 1989, a Navy A-6 Intruder suffered a catastrophic mechanical failure and crashed off Whidbey Island, Washington. The crew ejected safely. Despite a three-month search with four Navy ships, the missing jet was not found. Twenty-five years after the crash, former A-6 pilot and author of The Lost Intruder Peter Hunt set out to discover the submerge aircraft, knowing that it might be his final opportunity due to his battle with Parkinson's disease and imminent brain surgery. He was successful. Wednesday, January 10, 7:00 pm at the library.
