City seeking comments on critical areas regs

The City of Anacortes is seeking comments on proposed updates to the City’s critical areas regulations, which regulate certain activities and development in and near wetlands, streams, fish & wildlife habitat conservation areas, geologically hazardous areas, frequently flooded areas, and critical aquifer recharge areas.

After a long career in the Navy and Coast Guard, a 213-foot ship docked in Anacortes is being prepared to, ultimately, help in the cleanup of what’s become known as the Pacific Garbage Patch as well as other Earth-friendly jobs.
