Popular high school counselor Keith Anderson has been missing for a little over one year now and his family has recently raised a reward to $10,000. The Police Department is again asking for public help in resolving the case.
On January 7, 2010 the family of Keith Anderson reported that he had left his residence during the afternoon of January 6, 2010 to make contact with an acquaintance in Snohomish County, and hadn’t returned. At the time he left he had been expected to be gone for a few hours. When he left Anacortes, Keith Anderson was by himself and he drove his own vehicle. Information was sent to law enforcement agencies in Snohomish County requesting they check for Keith Anderson or his vehicle.
It has been determined that Keith Anderson was last seen in the Sultan, WA area during the late afternoon/early evening hours of January 6, 2010. His vehicle was found on January 22, 2010 in a remote area of Skagit County, north of Darrington, WA. An extensive search of this area failed to locate Keith Anderson.
Skagit County and Snohomish County Search and Rescue personnel have been unable to find any indication where Keith Anderson may be. The Anderson family continues to be diligent in their attempt to locate Keith Anderson by contacting people and putting up flyers throughout Western Washington. A website, searchforkeith.com, offers a reward for information leading to the locating of Keith Anderson.
The Anacortes Police Department is hoping that by reissuing the press release someone may come forward with new information, Anacortes Police Detective Sergeant Wayne Korterud is the lead investigator in the case and continues to follow-up on all tips the police department receives.
