The City Council on Monday night approved a $91,000 contract with Steele & Associates of Bellingham to build the playground just north of an existing community garden. There used to be a playground on the site, City Parks employee Jonn Lunsford told the Council. The old equipment was removed some years back.
The Performer Dome, shown here, is designed for 5-12 year old kids. There will also be another, smaller, playground piece of equipment designed for ages under five. The playground will include cedar surfacing, concrete curbing, a concrete walkway and grass sod.
Construction will start in the next 120 days.
