Keith Anderson still missing; police continue search

An Anacortes Police detective spent the second straight day in Snohomish County continuing to search for missing retired high school counselor Keith Anderson. Anderson, a popular counselor who retired 2 years ago from Anacortes High School, went missing January 6.

The Anacortes detective has been meeting with Snohomish officers and looking for anyone that Anderson might have contact there, but so far nothing new has turned up. Anderson was believed to have been heading to Snohomish County to meet an acquaintance when he left Anacortes.

He left without his cell phone and without extra clothes and was expected back the same day. The original police bulletin suggested the 62-year-old Anderson might have been suffering depression.

Last Saturday, local Red Cross leader Brian Geer organized a search effort to place missing person posters in Snohomish County businesses. As many as 60 participated in that effort. They blanketed the area from Anacortes to Everett east to Sultan, where Anderson was believed to have headed.
