Anacortes Arts Festival set for Aug.7-9

It’s summer and time for our community’s largest celebration….the Anacortes Arts Festival. On August 5, 6, and 7, Anacortes will play host to approximately 90,000 Festival goers.

Artists tour set for July 16-17

Skagit Artists Together will hold its annual studio tour later this month featuring 13 local artists at 6 open studios, plus another 9 artists in the Mount Vernon-Burlington and La Conner areas.

Local events for the Fourth

Anacortes will begin Independence Day celebrations on Sunday at 5:30PM with a patriotic event at the Depot Arts Center at 611 R. Ave to honor those who have served our country.

Art Walk this Friday features Northwest painters

The July Art Walk features a variety of artists, including a collection of 70 pieces from Washington Plein Artists Painting Group, including this work, “Beach at Marlyn Nelson Park”, an oil by Jim Lamb.

Karl Blau drops new album

Karl Blau has been making music in Anacortes ever since he cut a 7” single, a cover of the 1969 Tom T. Hall hit “That’s How I Got to Memphis” back in 1997. Now his new album, “Introducing Karl Blau,” is garnering interest across the country, including on National Public Radio.
